WIRE

On May 22, 2026, the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw hosted the second edition of the Warsaw Innovation and Regional Economics Conference (WIRE).

Its thematic scope covered areas such as:

  • corporate innovative activity,
  • creation and transfer of scientific and technological knowledge,
  • tech startups, including their formation, growth, and spatial patterns,
  • technology convergence and absorption processes,
  • tech clusters,
  • innovation from a regional perspective,
  • institutions in the context of regional development,
  • innovation policy at the regional and national levels,
  • and the links between innovation and international trade.

The most compelling papers presented during the conference were published in a special issue of the journal Papers in Regional Science.
