A conference dedicated to reforms in primary and community care across Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand, and China took place at the University of Warsaw on May 7–8, 2026. On behalf of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, the coordinators were Dr. hab. Anna Nicińska, prof. ucz., Dr. hab. Małgorzata Kalbarczyk, prof. ucz. and Dr. Agata Kocia.

The event was addressed to medical and healthcare professionals, as well as researchers interested in discussing research findings for healthcare systems.

During the two-day workshop, the following topics, among others, were discussed:

  • directions of long-term reforms,
  • digital transformation in healthcare,
  • the capitation system and meso-level organizations,
  • cross-sector collaboration,
  • vertical integration,
  • and the optimization of employment structures.

A special lecture on Polish experiences with the digitalization of the healthcare sector was delivered by Piotr Włodarczyk, Director of the Department of Analysis and Data Warehousing at the e-Health Center.

The initiative for the meeting, titled “How can we bring about radical reform in primary and community care?”, came from the European Health Policy Group. Organizational support was also provided by the e-Health Center, for which we extend our thanks on behalf of the event coordinators.
