REECAP

The 2023 REECAP Conference, hosted by the Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw, brought together researchers focused on the use of economic experiments in the broad field of agricultural economics. Held from 26th to 28th September 2023, the event served as a platform to exchange knowledge, present groundbreaking research, and foster new international collaborations.

The keynote speaker for the conference was Jayson Lusk (Oklahoma State University), who delivered an engaging presentation titled "A Calibrated Choice Experiment Method", sparking insightful discussions on experimental methodologies.

Another highlight was a presentation by Leah Palm-Forster (University of Delaware) on her paper titled "Investigating Spatiotemporal Complexities of Climate-Smart Commodity Programs Using Economic Experiments", which explored innovative approaches to climate-smart agriculture.

This year’s conference also featured the presentation of the REECAP Awards for outstanding young researchers:

  • Damien Mayaux (Paris School of Economics) received an award for his paper, "Promoting Green Consumption in Retail Markets: Behavioural Interventions under Strategic Pricing."
  • Thomas Rellensmann (University of Osnabrück) was recognized for his paper, "Combined Result-Based and Collective Agri-Environmental Schemes for Landscape-Scale Benefits: Experimental Evidence from Germany."

The conference was coordinated by Dr. Katarzyna Zagórska (Department of Microeconomics) and Wojciech Zawadzki (PhD student, Department of Microeconomics).
