"University of Warsaw for Ukraine" Programme
The Programme has been completed - thank you for your participation!
The "University of Warsaw for Ukraine" was a comprehensive socio-research programme implemented by the University of Warsaw as a direct response to the humanitarian crisis caused by Russia's full-scale aggression. It was a strategic intervention that combined direct support for refugees with in-depth scientific research on integration processes.
The main goal of the Programme was to provide comprehensive educational, psychological, vocational, and integration support to Ukrainian citizens who arrived in Poland after February 24, 2022. The activities aimed to facilitate adaptation to the new reality, enhance key competencies for the labor market, and maintain social and professional activity.
The Programme, coordinated by the Faculty of Economic Sciences with the active participation of 31 units across the University of Warsaw, encompassed a wide spectrum of activities. The offerings included intensive Polish and other foreign language courses, career planning workshops, psychological support, mentoring programs for highly qualified individuals, and numerous integration and adaptation activities for adults, youth, and children. Each action was simultaneously documented and analyzed, creating a unique knowledge base for future public policies.
Thanks to the tremendous commitment of the academic community, the Programme, initially planned for 3,000 people, ultimately supported more than 10,000 participants. The total value of eligible expenditures amounted to almost 24 million PLN.
Programme duration: 15 October 2022 – 31 December 2023
Programme Manager: Agnieszka Różycka, PhD
