SBCA

The European Conference of the Society for Benefit-Cost Analysis (SBCA) was held at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw, for the first time on September 19–20, 2024.

This edition of the conference aimed to advance the theory and practice of benefit-cost analysis (BCA) as a vital tool for evaluating the effectiveness of public programs in areas such as health and elderly care, the environment, and transportation.

The event featured two distinguished keynote speakers: Professor Maria Bratt Börjesson from the VTI Swedish Transport Research Institute and Linköping University, and Professor Tomasz Żylicz.

Panel discussions allowed participants to present and discuss theoretical, methodological, and empirical aspects of public project evaluations, as well as the practical applications of BCA.

Scholars and practitioners from leading institutions such as Newcastle University, Vienna University of Technology, Charles University, University of Kentucky, University of Bath, and the University of East Anglia were among the attendees.

This edition of the conference was organized by Professor Anna Bartczak and Dr. Ewa Zawojska from the Department of Microeconomics, Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw.
