The seminar will explore topics related to transport geography and their potential applications in regional science, based on the speaker's research to-date. Central to this discussion is the concept of accessibility, which refers to the ease of reaching desired destinations. In regional science it can serve as a useful tool for explaining a wide variety of economic or social phenomena, such as property value, spatial inequalities etc.

The seminar aims to provide a general theoretical framework to the notion of accessibility. Secondly, it will cover some practical examples of dealing with public transport data, including the most common format - GTFS (General Transit Feed Specification). The discussed methods will be illustrated with the speaker's empirical study of public transport accessibility in Warsaw metropolitan area.
