Scientific and research activities
The scientific and research activities of the employees and doctoral students at the Department of Banking, Finance, and Accounting include many areas and issues, such as:
- monetary policy;
- European Union central banking;
- monetary integration: the functioning of the European Economic and Monetary Union;
- banking systems;
- quality management in banking services;
- the mechanisms of financial markets;
- operational risk in financial institutions;
- quantitative finance;
- financial econometrics;
- the economics of taxation - accounting (including budgetary accounting and activity-based budgeting);
- economic and financial analysis in the public sector;
- corporate finance;
- measuring effectiveness and efficiency in public and private institutions;
- audits in public and private institutions;
- risks in healthcare;
- research into the human and social capital of organisations;
- management psychology.
The Department carries out scientific-research work (grants) for projects financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the National Centre for Research and Development, the National Science Centre, the Foundation for Polish Science, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, among others, and implemented using European Union funds and financing from other foreign entities. We also strive to obtain membership in scientific societies, associations, and other institutions both of a scientific and research nature, and remain active in areas of broadly-defined economic life:
