Works in the Form of Scientific Articles
A diploma thesis (bachelor's or master's) may be written in the form of a scientific article, in accordance with the following rules:
- The text of the article must have a structure which is typical of scientific articles on the subject (approx. 10-12 thousand words)
- A scientific article must be accompanied by a supplement which may provide a broader survey of the literature, the research method used, and the results obtained. It serves as a guide for the thesis reviewer and provides evidence that the student has analysed these areas in the work.
- There is no requirement for the article and the supplement to be linguistically consistent.
- There is no requirement to publish the article before defending the thesis.
- The thesis supervisor may be a co-author of the article (with a contribution of no more than 40%); however, the supplement must be written independently by the student.
- The fact that the work has been written in the form of a scientific article should be noted in the review
