"School of eagles"
The main objective of the "School of Eagles" Programme was to support exceptionally gifted students through the implementation of high-quality academic education, based on a tutoring system.
The project is financed by the Ministry of Education and Science (formerly Ministry of Science and Higher Education) under the Knowledge Education Development Operational Programme, under agreement number MNiSW/2020/142/DIR/KH.
ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Students of the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw who undertook undergraduate studies conducted by WNE UW in the 2019/2020 or 2020/2021 academic year as laureates or finalists of a national or international subject or sports Olympiad and students after completing their first or second year of undergraduate studies conducted by WNE UW, whose grade point average in the semester indicated was not lower than 4.0, applied for the School of Eagles programme scholarship.
The essence of the programme was to provide the student with tutoring, i.e. individual support from an academic supervisor. Under the guidance of the tutor, the student conducts research by participating in a research and teaching project. The result of this cooperation will be a scientific publication, submitted to a journal. The publication can also be an undergraduate thesis written in the form of a scientific article, and the tutor is the thesis supervisor.
As a result of the first and second rounds of recruitment, a total of 42 students qualified for the School of Eagles programme in 2021.
The first stage of the programme was successfully completed by 18 scholarship holders. A number of interesting scientific publications have been produced and are awaiting publication in journals.
In the current academic year, 22 scholarship holders are continuing their research work under the supervision of tutors, and their publications are awaiting publication until 30 June 2023.
The project does not foresee another round of recruitment.
