Economic Assistance

Economic assistance is:

  • a one-time benefit
  • granted on the basis of a documented application by a student
  • given in a situation where the student is temporarily in a difficult living situation, for reasonsbeyond their control, which is leading to costly, short-term difficulties with studying.

The maximum amount of the payment is 5,500 PLN. Assistance may be obtained twice per academic year, for two different reasons.


Who can apply for assistance?

A student at the University of Warsaw, who is temporarily in a difficult living situation, provided that he or she has been studying for no longer than 6 years. 

You are not entitled to assistance if:

  • you have a professional title of magister (master), magister engineer (engineer), or equivalent,
  • you have a professional title of bachelor, engineer, or equivalent, or if you are undertaking new first-cycle studies.

Applying for assistance

Submission of applications via the USOSweb system

After logging in at  www.usosweb.uw.edu.pl to your individual account, you must enter the tab  COMMON SECTION, and then  APPLICATIONS. You must complete an application form for assistance for the relevant academic year.

The deadline for applying

The application for assistance should be submitted immediately, and no later than three months after the date of the qualifying event, unless the applicant reliably demonstrates and documents that for reasons beyond his/her control, it was impossible to submit the application within that timeframe.
