Admission to the Doctoral Schools of the University of Warsaw
We are pleased to announce that the admission process for the Doctoral Schools of the University of Warsaw has officially begun. This is a unique opportunity for those looking to pursue a scientific career within one of our four units: the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School, the Doctoral School of Social Sciences, the Doctoral School of Humanities,or the Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences.
The program spans eight semesters, during which doctoral candidates participate in theoretical and methodological courses, higher education pedagogy, and classes focused on research management and building scientific capital. Furthermore, participants complete teaching internships of 30 or 60 hours throughout the entire educational cycle.
Candidates may submit their applications through the Internet Recruitment for Candidates System (IRK) from April 14th to May 21st, 2026. A key component of the application is the selection of a future supervisor; to assist with this, a search engine is available on the Doctoral Schools Forum website. The qualification process consists of two stages: an evaluation of the candidate’s prior scientific activity and research project, followed by an interview with the admission committee.
The University of Warsaw provides a doctoral scholarship to every PhD student for a period of 48 months. Additionally, candidates who achieve the highest scores during the admission process are eligible to apply for the prestigious "Scholarship to Start" (Stypendium na start)- please note that the deadline for these applications is April 24th.
