The WARSAW INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC MEETING 2024 (WIEM) - conference summary
The 19th edition of the 'Warsaw International Economic Meeting' (WIEM) conference was held at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Warsaw on 2-3 July this year.
The Faculty of Economic Sciences, as every year, had the pleasure of hosting scientists specialising in fields such as macroeconomics, international trade, labour economics, education, microeconomics, industrial organisation, finance and econometrics. Speakers included researchers from centres such as Feng Chia University, National Taiwan University, Lincoln University, Osnabrueck University, Aix-Marseille School of Economics, University of Naples Parthenope, Vilnius University, MINES Paris, PSL University, University of Maryland, University of Tokyo, and University of Genoa.
This year's keynote speaker was Professor Gabriel Felbermayr (Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO) in Vienna and the Vienna University of Economics and Business) with a lecture entitled: 'Complex Europe: Quantifying the cost of disintegration'.
WIEM is coordinated by Associate Professor Leszek Wincenciak - Head of the Department of Education and Labour Economics at the Faculty of Economic Sciences.
