Warsaw Innovation and Regional Economics Conference (WIRE) – 22 May 2026
The event will take place on 22 May 2026 and will focus on research in the field of innovation and technological progress.
The thematic scope of the conference will include, among others:
- Innovation performance of firms.
- Creation and transfer of scientific and technological knowledge.
- Technological startups: formation, development and spatial patterns.
- Catching-up processes and technological convergence.
- Technological clusters.
- Regional innovation systems.
- Institutions and regional development.
- Innovation policy: regional and national dimensions.
- Innovation and international trade.
All those interested in the above topics are welcome to submit their proposals, presenting either empirical or theoretical research. Abstracts may be submitted until 15 February 2026 via email to ~2=5*CA.xub+[JvD`yP!HE]#[h{&!{~}!5mQld@nMF^F.5..
The keynote lecture at the conference will be delivered by Prof. Slavo Radosevic (University College London). A scientific biography of the speaker and detailed information about his publications are available on the following website: https://slavoradosevic.com/.
There is no conference fee. Thanks to the support of the University of Warsaw, we are able to cover travel and accommodation costs for a limited number of participants. If you would like to apply for this support, please indicate this in your submission.
The most original and innovative papers will be considered for publication in a Special Issue of Papers in Regional Science (www.sciencedirect.com/journal/papers-in-regional-science). In addition, selected contributions may be eligible for publication charge waivers.
