Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Economic Sciences UW - Summary
The Graduation Ceremony took place on June 26th this year in the Adam Mickiewicz Auditorium (Auditorium Maximum, University of Warsaw).
We were honored by the presence of His Magnificence the Rector of the University of Warsaw, Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Vice-Rectors Prof. Ewa Krogulec, Prof. Adam Niewiadomski, and Prof. Maciej Raś, as well as a numerous group of deans, directors, and representatives of university departments.
Congratulatory letters were presented by the Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Prof. Gabriela Grotkowska, to Bachelor’s and Master’s graduates – including those who completed this stage of their education with honors. The joy visible on the faces of the graduates as they heard their names read by the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Dominika Gadowska-dos Santos, was shared by everyone in attendance. Graduation is also a perfect moment to honor researchers promoted in the current year. Congratulations were also extended to the winners of the Warsaw Econometric Challenge – the flagship WNE hackathon, which enjoys great popularity among university participants from all over Europe.
It was our absolute pleasure to listen to the speech by Dr. Mateusz Szczurek – an alumnus of the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Sussex University, a Polish economist, former Minister of Finance, member of the Management Board of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, and soon-to-be Director of the European Department at the International Monetary Fund.
A few words of gratitude for the time spent together at WNE were also shared by Aleksandra Łukasiak representing the WNE UW Student Council.
The musical setting was uniquely provided by the Choir of the SWPS University (substituting for the Academic Choir of the University of Warsaw, which was touring at the time).
The WNE graduates were accompanied by their families, friends, and academic teachers.
We are delighted that we could celebrate this symbolic moment of studying at the Faculty of Economic Sciences UW together. To quote the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Gabriela Grotkowska: “(...) remember that the doors of your Alma Mater are always open for you (...)”.
