About the Warsaw Econometric Challenge – in the Latest Episode of “The Pulse of Economics” Podcast

The 3rd episode of “The Pulse of Economics” podcast focuses on topics in econometrics, with particular emphasis on the Warsaw Econometric Challenge – a contest that has gained recognition among participants from academic institutions worldwide. In a discussion with Professor Leszek Wincenciak, Dr. Rafał Woźniak, one of the organizers of the event, presents the concept behind the contest. The challenge is addressed to undergraduate and graduate students and involves solving a real-world business problem – an econometric task based on a provided dataset. Each year, it attracts students from a wide range of academic institutions, including universities, economic universities, business schools, universities of technology.

This year’s fifth edition brought together 45 student teams including 116 students from 19 European Universities. Participants were given the opportunity to work on the data on traffic in Warsaw using signals from mobile devices.
