RULES CONCERNING PAYMENT FOR STUDENTS WITH POLISH CITIZENSHIP

In accordance with the regulations in force at the University of Warsaw, the principle of payment applies to:

  • education in part-time studies
  • repeating certain classes in full-time studies, due to unsatisfactory results in education
  • education during studies in foreign languages
  • teaching classes not covered by the study programme

RULES CONCERNING PAYMENT FOR STUDENTS WITH NON-POLISH CITIZENSHIP

Foreigners study at the University of Warsaw on a fee-paying basis. The tuition fees are specified in the study programme pricelist.

Fees for full-time studies in Polish does not apply to:

  • foreigners - a citizen of a European Union Member State, the Swiss Confederation,
  • or of a member state of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) - parties of agreements in the European Economic Area and their family members living within
  • the Republic of Poland;
  • a foreigner who has been granted a permanent residence permit or a long-term resident
  • of the European Union
  • a foreigner who has been granted a temporary residence permit within Poland in connection with
  • the circumstance referred to in art. 159, section 1 or art. 186, section 1 point 3 or 4 of the Act of 12 December 2013 on foreigners
  • a foreigner who has refugee status granted in Poland
  • a foreigner benefiting from temporary protection within Poland
  • a foreigner who has been granted supplementary protection within Poland
  • the holder of a certificate confirming knowledge of Polish as a foreign language at the C1 level or higher, issued by the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language
  • the holder of a valid Pole's Card (Karta Polaka)
  • a person who received a decision confirming Polish origin
  • a spouse, ascendant or descendant of a Polish citizen living within the Republic of Poland
  • a foreigner who has been granted a temporary residence permit due to circumstances referred to in art. 151 para. 1 (for research purposes) or art. 151b para. 1 (for the purpose of long-term mobility by a researcher) of the Act of 12 December 2013 on foreigners, or residing within the Republic of Poland in connection with using the short-term mobility of the researcher under the conditions specified in art. 156b para. 1 of that Act or holding a national visa for the purpose of research or development work
  • Citizen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland referred to in art. 10 section 1 b or d of the Agreement on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community, and their family members residing in the territory of Poland.

A foreigner may be exempt from fees on the basis of a decision by the Minister or Director of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) to grant a scholarship.
