Results of the 5th Edition of the Warsaw Econometric Challenge

This year’s edition of the competition brought together 116 participants from 24 countries, representing 19 academic institutions. The hackathon focused on the analysis of traffic intensity on the main arteries of Warsaw based on signals from mobile devices and spatial context (population, buildings, roads, service points).

The international team P-value Abusers won first place. It was represented by: Tymoteusz Barciński (Technical University of Copenhagen), Stanisław Gajda (The Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics of the University of Warsaw), Krzysztof Spaliński (Warsaw University of Technology) and Antonina Spalińska (Hasselt University)

Second place was awarded to Team Sigmoid, composed of students from the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics at the University of Warsaw: Mikołaj Garstecki, Szymon Kałużny, Albert Sobczak and Jan Wyczawski.

Third place went to the team Maximum (Victory) Likelihood EsTeamation, represented by: Jan Hincz (The Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Wasaw), Tymoteusz Mętrak (College of Interdisciplinary Individual Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences ) Radosław Rybakowski (Warsaw School of Economics) and Wojciech Szymczak (College of Interdisciplinary Individual Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences).

Honourable mentions for high scores also go to the teams: 4 Sigma, Cebula and The Autistic Four.
