Memories from the Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Economic Sciences 2025

On Saturday, July 5th, 2025, the Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Economic Sciences took place. As in previous years, the event was held in Adam Mickiewicz Aula, located in the Auditorium Maximum building at the Main Campus of the University of Warsaw. We had the honour of welcoming Professor Adam Niewiadomski, Vice-Rector for Doctoral and Legal Affairs at the University of Warsaw, who graciously accepted our invitation to participate in the ceremony. The event was also attended by representatives of various units of the University of Warsaw, as well as the Dean’s Board of the Faculty.

All participants of the ceremony were warmly welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Professor Gabriela Grotkowska. In her adress, the Dean emphasized the importance of the competencies acquired during the course of study, including analytical skills, critical thinking and ability to interpret data in the changing world. Professor Grotkowska also wished the graduates courage in facing challenges, openness to unexpected opportunities and being guided by a sense of what is right and good.

The ceremony was filled with moments of joy and emotion, especially as graduates received congratulatory letters marking the completion of their first- or second-cycle studies. Each graduate was also presented with a symbolic gift. We are especially pleased to report that this year, over 30 graduates were awarded letters with distinction.

A cherished tradition during the Graduation Ceremony is the recognition of academic staff who have received promotions in the current academic year. We extend our sincere thanks for your presence.

An inspiring account of his professional journey following graduation from the Faculty was shared by Mateusz Andrzejewski, currently affiliated with Citi.

We were also pleased to welcome the winners of the Warsaw Econometric Challenge, representing both Polish and European universities.

The University of Warsaw Choir provided us with musical accompaniment.

As always, the ceremony concluded with the traditional tossing of birettas—a joyful culmination of this significant academic milestone.

We extend our sincere thanks to all who joined us in celebrating this special occasion—graduates, families, friends, and guests. We warmly invite you to view the photo gallery from the event, captured by Ewelina Petryka and Krystian Szczęsny. We hope these images will bring back fond memories and spark joy.
