Coverage of the Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Economic Sciences 2024

The Graduation Ceremony was held in the Adam Mickiewicz Aula (Auditorium Maximum building on the Main Campus of the University of Warsaw) on the first Saturday of July. We were honored by the presence of the Vice-Rector for Research of the University of Warsaw Professor Zygmunt Lalak. The invitation to attend the event was also accepted by the representatives of academic units and faculties.

Graduation is an opportunity to present congratulatory letters to students of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Warsaw who have received a certificate of completion of their bachelor's or master's studies. Graduation is also a time to honor the Faculty's academics who have received the academic degree of Doctor, Doctor Habilitatus, Full Professor, or have been promoted to the position of Associate Professor in the current academic year.

The participants of the Graduation Ceremony were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Gabriela Grotkowska. In warm words addressed to this year's graduates, the Dean noted the value of innovation and the importance of social responsibility. She also emphasized the role of cooperation - sharing knowledge and teamwork and encouraged the graduates not to relent in their ability to rise from failures.

A touching moment for the graduates and their loved ones was the awarding - by the Dean of the Faculty and Vice-Dean for Students Affairs Dominika Gadowska-dos Santos - congratulatory letters for the completion of their studies.

The guest speaker of the Ceremony - Mateusz Walewski, currently chief economist at Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, also a graduate of the Faculty - delivered a speech on his professional path.

This year, during the Ceremony, we also recognized the winning teams tackling the Warsaw Econometric Challenge hackathon.

Following the example of past Graduations, there was a biretta toss and a joint commemorative photo. Musical accompaniment was provided by the University of Warsaw Choir.
