Candidates with foregin diplomas

Converting grades from certificates/diplomas obtained abroad

The method of converting grades from certificates obtained abroad which entitle to enrolment to the first-cycle studies is defined in Appendix 2 to Resolution no. 62 of the University Council. The points obtained by candidates holding certificates from countries which are not included in the above mentioned document are converted in accordance with the rates used for Polish national finishing examinations:

  • basic level with a conversion rate of 0.6,
  • advanced level with a conversion rate of 1.0,
  • and in cases where there is no stated level, with a conversion rate of 0.8.

Additional examination for BA studies

International candidates holding a diploma from outside the European Union, EFTA, EEA, OECD countries, or countries with bilateral agreements with Poland (e.g., Ukraine, China), applying for BA studies, are required to complete a two-stage admission procedure:

  1. Conversion of secondary school exam results.
Candidates who score at least 50% (i.e. 50 points) proceed to the second stage of the recruitment process. Candidates who score below the required threshold in the first stage will receive 0 points for the entire admission procedure.

  2. Entrance examination in mathematics – maximum score: 100 points.

The exam will take place on 17 July 2025 at 09:00 (Warsaw time) in an online format (UTC+02:00 Central European Summer Time / CEST).
The exam will be a single-choice test covering mathematics knowledge at the level of a Polish upper-secondary school. It will assess the candidate’s understanding of the curriculum and mathematical skills as outlined in the Polish national core curriculum.
Sample materials and guidelines are available at:
    https://cke.gov.pl/egzamin-maturalny/egzamin-maturalny-w-formule-2023/informatory/

A direct link to the test will be sent to candidates after their secondary school certificates have been evaluated.

The final admission score is the arithmetic average of the results from both stages of the recruitment process.

Attaching documents in the IRK system

Candidates with foreign diplomas are required to attach education-related documents to their IRC (Internet Recruitment of Candidates) account, according to which recruitment points will be calculated. If the candidate has two types of documents (e.g., in the case of candidates from Belarus, Attestat and a list of grades from the CT exam), please attach both documents along with the grades. After reviewing the documents, the Recruitment Committee will calculate the number of recruitment points on the basis of the most favourable score for the Candidate.

Additional documents required from holders of foreign diplomas

In addition to the other standard documents required for recruitment purposes, a candidate with a secondary school certificate or a university diploma issued abroad must provide the following:

1. authorisation of the certificate of secondary school or higher education diploma with grades, in one of the following forms:

  • legalisation – Who may perform the legalisation of documents?

  • or an apostille, if the document was issued by an institution operating within the educational system of a State that is a party to the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 – list of institutions in Hague Convention countries which may issue an apostille [link]

3. a certificate stating that the obtained secondary school leaving certificate or higher education diploma entitles the candidate to apply for admission to higher education, or to continue studies in the country from which the document originates, accompanied by a translation into the language of the studies which will be undertaken by the applicant

  • or a Recognition Statement generated online by Kwalifikator NAWA (the automated qualification service of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange), stating that the diploma entitles you to take up or continue studies
