Warsaw Econometric Challenge Awards ceremony

In this year’s edition of the contest 134 people took part, creating 46 teams from 23 countries – representants of 21 European universities.

This year’s subject was the relationship between money supply and the S&P500 index.

The winners of the contest was team GIGANTYCZNE FRYTY: Robert Kowalczyk, Jarosław Leski, Dawid Lubiński and Daniel Śliwiński.

In second place was the team DOMINANTY - Ewa Dobrowolska, Dominika Miętek, Katarzyna Piotrowska and Marta Saciuk.

Third place was the KMO TEAM: Adam Janczyszyn, Hubert Wojewoda, Jakub Wujec and Jakub Żmujdzin.

The organisers of the contest decided to award three distinctions to the teams:

  • GRADIENT DESCENDANTS: Ahmed Abdelmaksoud, Jakub Bandurski, Jan Frąckowiak and Maciej Lorens,
  • STATISTICAL SAVANTS - Daniel Chrościcki, Stanisław Gajda, Tymoteusz Muter, Wojciech Szczypek,
  • and ZALIA BALTA - Žygimantas Bogužas, Tomas Dzedulionis, Airida Lipskaitė and Gerda Utakytė.

Warsaw Econometric Challenge is a contest dedicated to undergraduate and graduate students. The aim of the contest is to write a scientific paper in 24 hours in teams consisting of max. 4 participants.

Third edition of the contest was organised jointly by the Faculty of Economic Sciences and High Tech Foundation.

The organisers of the contest are researchers from the Faculty of Economic Sciences: Marcin Chlebus, Ph.D., Jacek Lewkowicz, Ph.D., Rafał Woźniak, Ph.D. and prof. Piotr Wójcik.
