WNE UW in TOP10 at the world championship of econometrics

The team from the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw took place in TOP10 worldwide and qualified for the final at the world championship of econometrics in Amsterdam.
Our representants competed with the teams from all around the world from 10th to 12th of April, 2019 and finished ahead of many well-known universities such as Harvard University, University of Oxford and University of Cambridge. The competition was won by the University of Melbourne from Australia.
The University of Warsaw was represented by the following team: Wiktor Budziński, Mateusz Buczyński, Przemysław Kurek, Przemysław Ryś. Marcin Chlebus from the Department of Quantitative Finance WNE UW was a team advisor.
Our team succeeds by using the methods of econometrics, time series analysis, and machine learning. In the final, they focused on the comprehensive carbon reduction policy, including differences between 216 considered countries.
