Second place for students of the Faculty in the European final of the Rotman Trading Competition

We are very proud to announce that the team of the University of Warsaw took second place in the European final of the international trading competition Rotman European Trading Competition, held this year in the remote formula.

The team of the University of Warsaw, consisting of students and graduates of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, was one of the two Polish teams participating in the competition.

Our university was represented by graduate students of Faculty, Karolina Sulej and Jakub Kasprzak (Informatics and Econometrics), as well as Jan Androsiuk - a graduate of the Faculty's undergraduate Program, and Aleksandra Strzemieczna - a former undergraduate student at WNE UW, currently a student of the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics of the University of Warsaw.

The University of Warsaw team during the preparation and tests was also supported by other students of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, students of the Quantitative Finance program: Maciej Pomykała and Michał Prończuk.

This year's result of the University of Warsaw team allowed to take the lead in the general classification, covering all competitions of the Rotman European Trading Competition since 2012:

Rotman International Trading Competition is a prestigious trading contest, organised by the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. The contest consists of different tasks which require a combination of practical and theoretical knowledge from the field of financial markets, mathematical modeling, programming and economics. It is held on simulated real-time market where the ability to adjust the strategy quickly to the dynamic changes is crucial.

The scientific supervisor of the team is prof. Robert Ślepaczuk.

Our team will take part in the world final of the tournament, which will take place in February 2022 in Toronto.
