Training about the applications of blockchain technology in finance conducted by the Faculty’s researchers

On 25-26.03.2021, employees of the Quantitative Finance Department of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw conducted another training for the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, this time related to the applications of blockchain technology in finance.
On the first day prof. Robert Ślepaczuk presented the results of research papers conducted in the Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw, related to applications of momentum and contrarian strategies on cryptocurrencies. On the second day Paweł Sakowski, PhD provided a practical workshop with R code and Shiny applications related to building an investment portfolio consisting of traditional instruments and cryptocurrencies.
The training was conducted as part of the Horizon 2020 project entitled: "A FINancial supervision and TECHnology compliance training program" (https://fintech-ho2020.eu) carried out in a consortium of 25 universities and companies from the financial sector from European Union countries. The Polish team is led by prof. Piotr Wójcik.
