Dr. Paweł Sakowski won the OSTC Annual Financial Faculties Conference 2014 Trading Challenge

On February 5th 2015, the award for winning the OSTC Annual Financial Faculties Conference 2014 Trading Challenge has been presented to Dr. Paweł Sakowski (Department of Statistics and Econometrics, Quantitative Finance program coordinator, WNE UW) at the Faculty of Economic Sciences University of Warsaw.
The OSTC Annual Financial Faculties Conference 2014 Trading Challenge, academic edition of OSTC Global Trading Challenge, is a worldwide trading game competition that provides opportunity to trade on all major exchange markets in real time. The game gives access to a wide range of futures in all major asset classes reflecting the real situation. The winner achieved the highest level of P&L (Profit&Loss) among all other competitors from 5 leading universities across Poland
The Prize was awarded by OSTC Poland representatives: Dr. Ian Firla (Managing Director), and Tomasz Kwiatek (Management Board Member). The Faculty of Economic Sciences authorities, Prof. Jan Jakub Michalek (Dean) and Dr. Katarzyna Kopczewska (Vice-Dean for Student Affairs) congratulated the winner during a meeting and also applauded OSTC, the Prize funder and Main Partner of the Conference. Both parties are enthusiastic about expanding their cooperation in the field of innovative scientific and educational activities.
The Annual Financial Faculties Conference took place on September 22nd-24th2014 was organized by the Department of Financial Markets at the Cracow University of Economics. The debates were divided into three sections: macroeconomic role of finance (fiscal and monetary policy), financial market as the mechanism for the allocation of resources (efficiency of financial markets, banking and non-banking institutions, limit mechanisms) and the determinants of financial development.
