Economics of Taxation
Organizational issues:
- We
will have 15 meetings. It is more than the number of topics in the
syllabus, but do not worry. We have enough to talk about for even more
than 15 meetings.
- I am
checking the list. Each student has to be present at 50% + 1 meetings (not
counting the final exam). If you are absent at more meetings, then you
fail the course. The cause of the absence in not important.
- There
is a final exam in form of the test. Part of it will be a closed form
test, where you have to chose one answer from four available, part will be
an open form test, where you have to add a word or finish a sentence. This
exam will take place during our last regular meeting, i.e. on January 23th.
- Another
condition for passing the course is that you have to speak English. If
somebody has just started learning it, and knows only Spanish or Italian,
or any language other than English, he or she cannot pass the course.
- The
test will cover only the material discussed during lectures.
- The
literature is given in the syllabus. We will also refer to other works,
concerning some narrow problems, and even to everyday newspapers, if
necessary. Therefore, at each meeting I will give you the literature for
the material covered.
- Students
participating in the course have to make a presentation about their
national tax systems.
