Commemoration of March '68 at WNE UW
February 19, 2018
The Dean's Board cordially invites to participate in a meeting commemorating events that took place in March 1968. The meeting will be held on March 8th at 16:00 in B002.
In March 1968, at the University of Warsaw, dramatic events took place: student protests have been brutally pacified by the security forces of the PRL. "Events of March 1968" led to suspension of WNE’s activity. The faculty has been transformed into an Institute of Economic Sciences, part of newly created Faculty of Social Sciences. The Institute was located in a building at Nowy Świat 69. Afterwards it has been relocated to Długa Street – its current location.
Prof. Włodzimierz Siwiński and prof. Jerzy Wilkin are expected to be the guests of honour. The meeting will be moderated by prof. Tomasz Żylicz. We invite anyone who wishes to share their memories about March `68 or to listen to the stories of what happened 50 years ago. The meeting will be held in Polish
