CfP: 2nd Edition of WNE UW Students' Conference
4 July 2017
This year in October the second edition of The Students Conference will take place at The Faculty of Economic Sciences. It will be the continuation of the first edition of this venture which was held in June 2016. On behalf of the organizers – we are pleased to invite you to be a part of it.
Below you can find all necessary information about the Conference and specifications of publications. As organizers we made a strong effort to make the Conference as attractive as it could be – also for those who graduated during the present academic year. For those who are planning their future careers at our Faculty – benefits are unquestioned.
We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the materials below and to participate in The Second Students Conference. We hope that this event, due to your involvement, turns out to be a huge success and will be permanently inscribed in the calendar of The Faculty.
Date: the second week of October
Registration: the first round: 10th of July, the second round: 25th of September
The conference is targeted mainly to students who conduct researches within the framework of proseminar and also to the students who were preparing final papers from attended courses.
The purpose of the Conference is to give students the ability to present their graduation work and the results of conducted researches in front of members of the faculty and other students. It is one of rare chances to hear works of our colleagues from the faculty. Due to active attendance as a speaker you will have a possibility to be objectively assessed by a wide group and compare your accomplishments to others.
Division into themed blocks each containing: speeches conducted by students, debates with the present auditorium, lectures by or debates with a faculty member or invited guest from outside of the faculty, best work contest (chosen by a scientific committee)
Two rounds of registration, the first one - intended for students defending their theses during the summer session till 10th July (sending abstracts) , the second one - intended for students defending their theses from September till the 25th of September (sending theses and presentations by contestants from both registration rounds).
Because of the fact that after the first round we are going to create a division into thematic blocks, we encourage you to register during the first round even if you work is not yet done. The subject area and short draft will be sufficient.
- the certificate of active attendance
- publication of the best dissertation works in „Economics” redacted by The Faculty of Applied Economics and „To Zależy” redacted by The Student Association of Economic Strategy
- attractive awards for winners of the contest
- the possibility of presenting in front of potential future employers (attendance of representatives of the Employers Council of our faculty and scientific committee)
- the possibility of hearing other students’ works and gaining knowledge from their works
We hope that this event – thanks to your involvement – will become a great success and will earn its way into the faculties calendar.
